Cry Like A Guy - Short Film

Crying. A natural reflex reflected by society as the antithesis of ‘manliness’. It’s a harmful narrative imposed upon boys and men, who are told from a young age to avoid their emotions and ‘man up’. Time to stop that.

‘Cry Like A Guy’ is a 5-minute short directed by Ant Rubinstein & written by Catherine Willoughby, the duo behind the award-winning 'There's Something Going Around'. It’s an exploration of why we cry, taking a journey through biology, sociology and history to question how it became stigmatised.

Using Cinema 4d, our team set about creating an animated world depicting the complex inner mechanisms of our brains processing emotions.
